Yuris is an Associate in the firm's Corporate, Commercial and Investment Practice Group. Yuris helps clients navigate foreign direct investment regulations enabling the execution of their market entry, regulatory compliance, licensing and key transactions. He also counsels multinational corporations and local State-Owned Enterprises on various joint ventures, acquisitions and divestitures transactions in a number of regulated sectors, such as real estate, plantation, construction, insurance and manufacturing.
Before joining Foster, he spent years working as Senior Associate at a prominent Indonesian boutique corporate firm that specializes in project finance, infrastructure, real estate and construction matters. Yuris' transactional proficiency is balanced with in-depth experience of regulatory and advisory work.
He successfully advised a subsidiary of a Japanese conglomerate on its joint venture for real estate development with one of Indonesia’s largest property groups which involved both its Indonesian and Hong Kong entities. Yuris also counseled an Indonesian state-owned plantation company in North Sumatra in its joint venture with a prominent local property group for the development and management of approximately 8,800 hectares of land designated for residential, industrial, commercial, and green zones. Yuris was involved in the end-to-end process until the full closure of both transactions, encompassing legal advisory on the transaction structure, legal due diligence, drafting and negotiation of joint venture and shareholders agreements, to preparation of conditional land sale and purchase agreement.
In the insurance industry, Yuris contributed in the provision of legal advisory for a state-owned holding company specializing in insurance, guarantees and investments on the implementation of parenting model concept in compliance with local insurance regulations, where he was also involved in the limited legal due diligence on the holding company and its ten subsidiaries operate in various financial services industries. He also assisted a prominent local industrial estate group in the divestiture of its two subsidiaries in the modern warehouse and rental factory sectors to a prominent Thai-Singaporean multinational real estate and property management group, having prepared the relevant transaction documents.
