She is active across a range of industries, including technology, telecom, fintech (insurtech and payment services), manufacturing and natural resources.
With her substantive knowledge of regulatory landscape, stakeholder mapping and legal framework in Indonesia's start-up ecosystem, Dona regularly counsels start-up clients and tech companies on all aspects of corporate law, various commercial transactions, market entry strategies, data privacy and compliance matters. Her advice helped both emerging growth companies and more mature companies with diverse operations in developing creative solutions that align legal strategy with business objectives.
Dona has assisted a variety of venture capital and private equity firms such as Vertex Ventures, AC Ventures, Alpha JWC Ventures, and Sweef Capital in relation to their equity investments in various start-up companies in Indonesia, including Hangry (F&B tech company), Satu Dental (dental healthcare platform), Filmore Medical (healthcare and clinic chain startup) and Rose All Day (cosmetic). She also contributed to numerous legal due diligence mandates related to acquisition deals, and in the preparation of fundraising-related documents, negotiation of investment terms, transaction structuring and execution. In the fintech space, she advised Qoala, a leading insurtech company, on regulatory compliance, internal restructuring and corporate governance matters.
Her practical experience in foreign direct investment and general corporate work was showcased when she assisted KSB, a German-based multinational manufacturer of pumps and valves, with several sale and purchase transactions, and provided guidance on general licensing and compliance for the company's operations in Indonesia. She also counseled Nitori, a leading Japanese retail company, in connection with its market entry, foreign direct investment, corporate governance and business license procurement in Indonesia.
At Foster, she is assigned to advise a prominent South Korea-based digital lending company on the acquisition of a local peer-to-peer lending company as it enters into Indonesia's fintech industry, which includes the legal due diligence and regulatory support for the procurement of acquisition approval from the Financial Services Authority.
She is chosen by the Partners of Foster to be the firm's go-to data privacy specialist to assist various tech start-ups, fintech and e-commerce companies regarding data protection framework, policy and governance. She is also tasked with providing end-to-end advisory, regulatory and transaction support to the firm's growing list of venture capital clients.
